The Host
(writer/director) 2003
The host’s home has been descended upon by a group of uninvited guests. He tries his best to hold onto himself until making an abominable acquaintance. As they get to know each other it transpires that they share more in common than the host would care to admit. A disturbed comedy.
Reviews
Simon Hynd has adapted the story with the skill of a master butcher, cutting off the fat, trimming the gristle. This is a work of the imagination. Fulton's performance perfectly reflects the psychological uncertainty of a mind in free fall and Hynd's use of the camera is inspired. [iofilm]
